Dr. Santiago Higuera de Frutos | Group of Next-Generation Networks and Services

Santiago Higuera de Frutos holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).
Since 1992, he has combined his work in construction and infrastructure with active participation in open-source software and GIS communities.

He has been a Professor and researcher at UPM since 2014, currently based at Teleco Campus Sur.
Santiago is the author of Programación en Rust and Programación y Métodos Numéricos para Ingeniería con MATLAB y Octave (Editorial Garceta).

His research interests include driving simulators, road layout and design, and open-source GIS development.
